Written by Todd Martin on .

The following is a list of corrections and selected enhancements added to Sage 100 2018.4
For a full list of Enhancements, refer to the What's New page inside the Product.

Product updates are cumulative; in other words, this update includes all enhancements and program corrections found in prior updates for version 2018. Smart Update will install only the programs that have been updated since your last update was installed.

Workstation Synchronization has been enhanced to update Sage 100 Standard Workstations along with Sage 100 Advanced and Premium Workstations. Sage 100 Standard Users are no longer required to run WksUpdate Standard.exe on each Sage 100 Standard Workstation.

All Sage 100 updates must be installed on the server where Sage 100 is installed.

For eBusiness Manager users upgrading for the first time to Product Update 3 or higher, you will need to perform the following one time:
  1. From the Sage 100 Server, copy the following files located in the ..\MAS90\Home folder:
    1. pvxclr4.dll
    2. Sage.Exchange.dll
    3. wsVault.dll
  2. Copy the 3 files above to the server where the Sage 100 Web Engine is installed. The default location for the Sage 100 Web Engine installation is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Sage 100 20XX WebEngine\WEBENG\Home\", but this is configurable.
  3. Restart the Web Engine and run as an application. Running the Web Engine as a Service is not recommended at this time. See Knowledge Base entries 82537 and 82539 for more information. Make a copy of any existing files before replacing.

Accounts Receivable

  1. Memos are no longer displayed in Customer Inquiry & Customer Maintenance when Memo Options is set to Hide and Auto Display is not checked in AR Memo Manager Maintenance for Customer Memo Type.
  2. "Error 15 AR_CustomerListingBal_rpt.pvc 572" no longer occurs when running AR Customer Listing with Balance report.
  3. Sage 100 Support added for EMV Credit Card Chip Processing using an Ingenico iPP320 or Equinox L5300 device.

Working with User Defined Fields

Written by Todd Martin on .

Sage 100 ERP user defined fields setupWhen you originally implemented Sage 100 ERP, you probably made some important decisions about your chart of account structure, account segments, and other aspects of accounting and reporting.

But what happens if your tracking and reporting needs change over time? That's where User-Defined Fields (UDFs) can help. Let's take a look.

What is a User-Defined Field?

User-defined fields can be added to any table in the Sage 100 ERP database. As the name suggests, these custom fields are defined and created by the user (that's you!) and allow you to store and track additional transaction detail that may not be provided as a standard field in Sage 100.

What is Social CRM?

Written by Todd Martin on .

Social media with CRMSuccessful companies are increasingly using tools like Sage CRM to develop and manage customer relationships. But if you only focus on your own internal CRM data, you could be missing opportunities online. Nowadays, more consumers are using social media to research products, ask questions, and solicit recommendations from their social networks.

So we want to introduce you to the concept of Social CRM. This concept is the combining of social media conversations with your in-house CRM data to help uncover new opportunities.

Understanding Level 3 Credit Card Processing

Written by Todd Martin on .

Sage 100 ERP customers can now take advantage of Level 3 Credit Card Processing. This new functionality for the Ready to Get Started? platform allows you to qualify for lower rates when processing business, commercial, and government payments. Here's what you need to know.

What is Level 3 Processing?

Level 3 processing expands your payment processing capabilities beyond the typical consumer transaction by allowing you to process business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) purchase cards. That's because B2B and B2G transactions are considered "lower risk" and carry much lower interchange rates. This means that merchants like you are charged less per transaction and for other fees like charge-backs.

Sage MAS Intelligence

Written by Todd Martin on .

Sage MAS Intelligence (SMI) is the replacement for FRx for Sage Software. Microsoft has given FRx an end of life date (end of 2012) and it is approaching. Sage is not going to wait around until the product is no longer supported. They have already found a replacement product and SMI is that product.

Sage ERP MAS Intelligence empowers you to quickly and easily gain control and obtain the information you need for operations and strategic planning. Using the familiar look of Microsoft Excel®, analyze Sage ERP MAS 90, 200, or 500 ERP data. Effortlessly create real-time, automated, and preformatted reports with up-to-date, accurate, and meaningful information. Sage ERP MAS Intelligence allows you to spend more time focusing on analysis and interpretation and less time pulling the data together.

ACH Electronic Payment

Written by Todd Martin on .

A new feature that was added with product update 4.40.0.2 is ACH Electronic Payment. ACH Electronic Payment update now provides you with the ability to pay your vendors electronically. This topic provides information and requirements for generating an ACH file that contains payment information for vendors that is submitted to your financial institution.

In this video from Sage University we can see how to use the new feature.

Enhanced Customer PO Number Validation

Written by Todd Martin on .

A new feature that was added with product update 4.40.0.1 is Enhanced Customer PO Number Validation. In Sales Order Options, you can now optionally choose to check for duplicate customer PO numbers in Sales Order Entry, Sales Order Invoice Data Entry, Sales Order History, Accounts Receivable Invoice Data Entry, and Accounts Receivable Invoice History.

In this video from Sage University we can see how to use the new feature.

Allowed Job Statuses in Data Entry Tasks

Written by Todd Martin on .

A new feature that was added with product update 4.40.0.1 is to have Allowed Job Statuses in Data Entry Tasks. You can now control the selection of jobs in data entry tasks based on the job status. For example, you can define settings that only allow users to enter a billing for jobs that have a job status of Complete.

In this video from Sage University we can see how to use the new feature.
