SPOTLIGHT ON: Sage CRM

How it Works With Your ERP System

In the past, we've explored how CRM software can organize and automate sales, marketing, and customer service in much the same way that Sage 100 ERP does for accounting, reporting, inventory, financial management, and more.

But in this article, we want to focus how Sage CRM works together with your Sage 100 ERP system to help you understand why companies are increasingly prioritizing an integrated approach to CRM and ERP.

Visibility: One Version of the Truth

Customers are at the heart of any business. But too often, customer data is spread across multiple systems which isn't good for accuracy, efficiency, customer service, or reporting.

When you combine Sage CRM with Sage 100 ERP, you have a single source for all customer data and transactions from contact details, shipments, and credit history to quotes, orders, and customer service requests. So whether someone from sales, accounting, or operations pulls up a customer record, they see one version of the truth.

Sage Inspire Tour Back on the Road: Coming to a Town Near You!

It all began last year when a group of Sage Executives went out on the road - touring North America in an RV - to gain a perspective about what customers like you need and want out of your Sage business software.

The Sage Inspire Tour in 2013 was a fantastic success.

At each stop, Sage will host a series of discussions where you’ll have an opportunity to connect with your peers and talk about the challenges you face in your business. Working with User Defined Fields

Sage 100 ERP user defined fields setupWhen you originally implemented Sage 100 ERP, you probably made some important decisions about your chart of account structure, account segments, and other aspects of accounting and reporting.

But what happens if your tracking and reporting needs change over time? That's where User-Defined Fields (UDFs) can help. Let's take a look.

What is a User-Defined Field?

User-defined fields can be added to any table in the Sage 100 ERP database. As the name suggests, these custom fields are defined and created by the user (that's you!) and allow you to store and track additional transaction detail that may not be provided as a standard field in Sage 100.

What is Social CRM?

Social media with CRMSuccessful companies are increasingly using tools like Sage CRM to develop and manage customer relationships. But if you only focus on your own internal CRM data, you could be missing opportunities online. Nowadays, more consumers are using social media to research products, ask questions, and solicit recommendations from their social networks.

So we want to introduce you to the concept of Social CRM. This concept is the combining of social media conversations with your in-house CRM data to help uncover new opportunities.

Understanding Level 3 Credit Card Processing

Sage 100 ERP customers can now take advantage of Level 3 Credit Card Processing. This new functionality for the Ready to Get Started? platform allows you to qualify for lower rates when processing business, commercial, and government payments. Here's what you need to know.

What is Level 3 Processing?

Level 3 processing expands your payment processing capabilities beyond the typical consumer transaction by allowing you to process business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) purchase cards. That's because B2B and B2G transactions are considered "lower risk" and carry much lower interchange rates. This means that merchants like you are charged less per transaction and for other fees like charge-backs.

Getting Started with Sage Cloud Connector

With all the buzz (and confusion) surrounding "the cloud", it can be hard deciding whether or not it makes sense for your business. But with Sage 100 ERP and the Sage Cloud Connector, you don't have to choose because you get the best of both worlds - flexibility of the cloud combined with the stability of your on-premises software. Let's take a closer look at this important new technology.

How Does it Work?

The Sage Cloud Connector works as the buffer (or bridge) between your on-premises Sage 100 ERP software and the cloud - connecting you to a whole new world of web-based add-on applications without having to purchase, install, and configure web servers or special hardware in-house.

You've probably heard about the new Sage web and mobile applications that are available in the cloud like Sage Inventory Advisor, Sage Mobile Sales, Sage Mobile Service, and many others. Sage Cloud Connector is the technology that allows the data and transactions to flow freely between your on-premises accounting system and these cloud applications. That means there's no duplicate data entry or import/export routines - it all flows seamlessly between your office and the cloud.
